Synopsis

The film begins with Das and his gang, led by Arasu, stealing weapons discarded by the police in a Tamil Nadu town. As the police begin investigating the robbery, the officer handling the case is killed. The film then reveals that the same officer had earlier robbed a poor man of Rs 7 lakh and murdered him. The money was meant for the education of the victim’s son. The victim’s family approaches Das and his gang seeking justice. After the gang kills the police officer, they are forced to go underground in Chennai. A special officer is then assigned to track down those responsible for the weapons robbery and the murder, setting off a long chase. During this journey, Das meets Parvathy, a bar singer whose honesty attracts him. However, her life takes a tragic turn. Later, Das comes across Chandra, a woman who has been trapped in a brothel for 18 years. He helps her escape, and she stays with him as he continues to remain on the run. The real reason behind Das’s actions is revealed only towards the climax.
